A Sport that is Giving Back

Governed by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), contemporary Roller Derby is a unique amateur sport with a well-established fan base and grass-roots appeal. As an amateur sport, players often find creative ways to financially support their team, though they care about more than just themselves. WFTDA roller derby has a tradition of community service, often raising money for local causes or charity at each bout they play. By getting involved in their communities, roller derby players not only build team spirit, but a sense of local pride and belonging.
