Music Piracy
The way people obtain music has dramatically changed since the day of the cassette tape or compact disc, more typically known as a CD. Many people maintain completely digital music collections, and they purchase and download music electronically. This method of music transfer is easy for people and music producers to use, but it also allows people to illegally share music with people (friends, neighbors, classmates) who haven't purchased it. Sharing music with people who haven't purchased it is called piracy, and musicians and producers are working to lessen the amount of piracy that occurs.
